Improve your e-communication skills!

Stats, metrics, numbers, we have them by the truckload, but what do they all mean? How can you use the data you collate from your email marketing to increase your revenue or to better communicate with your customers?

It's simple!

Segmentation.

Which is why we have built a data mining tool into ReportMail.

Should people who ignore and delete your email get the same message as those who open, click and buy from you? The answer is, of course, a resounding no. In today's age of web 2.0 technologies where consumers self select what they want to read and receive, it's more important than ever for these groups to receive the right message.

A couple of examples:

Converting the unconverted

You may want to weed out contacts who have been on your database for a long time but have not actually opened any of your emails. You could then send an email to these people with a slightly different approach to try and generate some interest and revenue from an otherwise stagnant group.

By using the data mining tool in ReportMail you can now search for contacts with 'number of emails opened = 0' over a select time period. This will search through all the mailshots sent in this period to find the relevant contacts. You could even search for those who had opened a set percentage of your emails e.g. less than 5%.

The contacts corresponding with the search criteria are returned so you can then save this group back into ReportMail to test a different approach.

Rewarding your favourites

Would you like to find the respondents who read your emails with fervour? Up until now this has been very easy on a mailshot by mailshot basis but there wasn't a way to link mailshots and run reports across multiple mailshots or over a set time period.

By using our new data mining tool it's now possible to evaluate this data. You can look for contacts who open and click on all your emails - you could even reward them with a special message at Christmas for showing their loyalty.
